Candle Care and User Guide
All General Candle Warning:
- Always read and follow the safety instructions.
- Light candles in a well-ventilated area, away from flammable materials such as curtains, clothing, gasses and electrical appliances.
- Always use a suitable candle holder, place candles and wax warmers on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
- Keep the wax free of debris.
- Never leave a burning candle unattended. Ensure it is completely extinguished before leaving the room or going to sleep.
- Keep candles out of reach of children and pets.
- If you’re concerned about the safety of our products around pets, we recommend doing your own research to ensure it aligns with your specific needs.
- If the flame is approximately 3cm high, flickers excessively, and/or produces smoke, extinguish immediately. Once cooled, trim the wick to 5mm and remove any hazards before relighting.
- Do not burn any type of candle for longer than 4 hours at a time after the first use.
- Keep candles away from drafts and vents to prevent uneven burning and dripping/ wax splatter.
- Never touch or move whilst alight or when wax is liquid; extinguish and let cool before handling.
- Do not consume any products.
- If wax is ingested, or if adverse reactions occur, seek medical advice immediately. If wax spills on skin or in eyes, rinse with cold water and consult a healthcare professional promptly.
- When discarding leftover wax, place it in the bin—never down drains or toilets as it can clog pipes.
- Our products are intended for decorative and personal use only. Do not use them to harm or injure others, including animals.
- If a fire occurs, prioritise your safety. Use a fire extinguisher only if it’s safe to do so. Otherwise, remain calm and evacuate immediately, call emergency services from a safe location as soon as possible.
- To maintain the quality and appearance of your candle, keep it away from direct sunlight and strong artificial light. Prolonged exposure may cause discolouration, fading, cracking or warping, especially in dyed or fragranced candles. Store in a cool, dry place to preserve its beauty, it does not affect its performance. Its purely aesthetics.
Safety Notice:
Your safety is our priority. Exercise good judgment and avoid actions that could cause fire, injury, or damage. Luxe Edition is not liable for any loss or injury resulting from product use.
Sculptural/Crystal Candles:
Designed mainly as decorative pieces, each sculptural candle will burn uniquely due to the irregular shapes and sizes.
Handling: To prevent injury or damage, always lift and support your candle piece by the base rather than the top alone. The base, whether made of cement, crystal, or other heavier materials, can detach if handled by the top only. For sculptural candles made entirely of wax, irregular shapes and varying thicknesses can also make them more fragile, increasing the risk of breakage when lifted improperly.
First Use: Always use a heat-resistant dish to catch dripping wax and protect surfaces from potential stains, dye marks, or burn damage.
- Remove any tag or decorative items on the candle before lighting.
- Trim the wick to 5mm before lighting to ensure a clean, smoke-free burn.
- If burning multiple candles, keep burning candles at least 80mm apart
Regular Use: Keep out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources when not in use.
- Burn between 1-3 hours at a time. This helps prevent overheating and excess dripping and help maintain the shape a little longer where possible.
- When extinguishing It is always best to use a wick dipper or snuffler—this keeps the wax clean and ready for next time.
- To avoid potential heat damage to your candle holder or tray, discontinue use when there is only approximately 5mm of wax remaining.
Disposal: Once 5mm of wax remains, extinguish the candle, let it cool, and discard in the bin. Never discard wax down drains or toilets.
Re-Use: Any leftover wax can also be broken into smaller pieces and placed in an approved wax warmer to enjoy the scent until it fades. Once the fragrance is gone, simply discard the wax into the bin.
Vessel Candles:
First Use: Always place the vessel on a heat-resistant and stable surface for an even burn and to protect surfaces from potential damages from heat, etc.
- Allow the wax to completely melt to the edge of the vessel this may vary roughly between 3 - 5hrs. Once it is reached please extinguish and allow to cool completely.
- Always trim the wick to 5mm before lighting to ensure a clean, smoke-free burn.
- Try to keep the wick centred. If it’s leaning too far to one side or curling over, the candle may burn unevenly or, in extreme cases, cause the vessel to crack from the concentrated heat. If you notice the wick bending to one side, extinguish the flame and let the candle cool completely. Then, trim the wick if needed. If the wick is already short, you can gently reposition it using a spoon to help it stand upright and ensure an even, safer burn.
- If you find your wick is too short or drowning in the wax, you can carefully remove some of the excess wax by waiting until the wax has partially solidified, then use a spoon to scoop some out. You can discard the excess wax in the bin or pop it into a wax warmer to continue enjoying the fragrance!
- When discarding left over wax, place the vessel in a bowl of hot water to allow the wax to melt away from the vessel wall, by doing so will allow it to slip out easily when you discard into the bin. Then get a paper towel to wipe the excess wax out of the vessel. Or alternatively you can put the left over wax into a wax warmer to continue enjoying the fragrance!
- Clean your vessel out with warm soapy water and reuse it for other purposes around the home otherwise recycle where possible.
- For vessels that offer candle refills, always carefully inspect your vessel for any damage, such as cracks, chips, or broken pieces, including small hairline cracks. If you find any, it is important to dispose of the vessel immediately, as these imperfections could lead to the vessel breaking or, in extreme cases, the jar exploding due to heat exposure. This could result in hot wax spilling and causing potential physical harm, including burns and/or fire hazards. To ensure your safety, please discard any damaged vessels and replace them with a new one before using the refill.
Wax Melts:
Use: Remove packaging before use. Only use in approved tea-light or electric warmers. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for use.
- Adding more wax melts to your warmer won’t necessarily create a stronger fragrance. Overfilling can cause the melted wax to overflow, leading to spills and potential mess. For the best experience, use the recommended amount and enjoy the scent safely.
- Break/Place 1-2 pieces and place in the warmer. Do not add water.
- For larger wax melts that can’t be broken by hand, simply cut them into smaller pieces with a knife. Then, place a small piece into your wax warmer to enjoy the fragrance.
- You can reuse the wax melt several times until the fragrance fades / no longer noticeable.
Disposal: Once the fragrance fades, allow the wax to solidify before disposal. If you encounter difficulty removing it, gently warm the dish until the wax begins to soften slightly; it should then come out easily. Finally, use a tissue to wipe the dish clean before adding a new wax melt.
- For silicone flip dishes, let the wax cool, flip the dish inside out, and the used wax will pop right out. Rinse and dry the dish or If there is any residue you can use a tissue to wipe clean instead and it’s ready for a new fragrance.
Storage: Wax melts are sensitive to light, which may cause discolouration, whilst temperature fluctuations can lead to cracking or melting. To preserve their quality, store them in its original packaging in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
